Portable wind turbine can bring clean energy to anyone

Trinity is the world’s first wind turbine that can be taken just about anywhere.

Janulus, a Minnesota-based investment company, has developed a revolutionary portable wind turbine called Trinity, a unique device that enables users to generate their own clean energy, store the power they generate, and even sell off the power that they don’t use. The team behind the Trinity project is made up of leading experts in various fields who have been working together since 2013. Among the team members includes Janulus Founder and CEO Einar Agustsson and vice president Agust Agustsson. The Trinity headquarters is located in Reykjavik, Iceland and a distribution center is in Minnesota, USA.

Light and portable, the Trinity comes in four different models.

According to Janulus’ Kickstarter page for its Trinity project, each of the four Trinity models is portable, water and weather proof with TOB plugs, can be used in winds as low as 4 mph, and has an auto stop feature in excess winds. Every model has 3 blades and 3 legs and is made from a plastic material that is both strong and durable.

Every Trinity portable wind turbine model also comes with a built in and replaceable battery pack. All batteries come with a 2 year warranty. In addition, users can monitor their Trinity with an app that lets them turn the device on or off, lets them see how much electricity the turbine is generating, and more.

The Trinity 50 is the smallest model, and is a 50-watt wind turbine that can easily fit inside a backpack, making it the perfect companion for campers. Weighing a mere 1.4 pounds, it is capable of fully charging smartphones and other similar electronics three to four times per single charge.

The Trinity 400 is the next model up. This slightly larger 400-watt model is 6.6 pounds and can fully charge smartphones 10-16 times on a single charge, as well as power a small camper. However, those seeking to charge a home will be interested in the last two and largest models, the Trinity 1000 (1,000-watts and 17.6 pounds) and Trinity 2500 (2,500-watts and 42 pounds).

The portable wind turbine project on kickstarter has already surpassed its goal.

In its first day on the crowdfunding site, the Trinity project managed to nearly meet its $50,000 goal by raising an incredible $42,000. When this article was written, there are still 31 days to go and the portable wind turbine project had already exceeded its goal, with more than $76,000 raised.
