Intelligent Energy launches the Upp charger in retail stores throughout the United Kingdom

Intelligent Energy, a developer of hydrogen fuel cells, has announced the retail launch of its new portable fuel cell device in the United Kingdom. The device is called Upp and is designed to be a charging solution for smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices. The demand for portable charging systems has been on the rise for some time, but there are relatively few companies that have taken steps to accommodate this demand in any market.

Portable charger can provide power to nearly any device with as USB port

The Upp device is USB-compatible, meaning it can be used to charge mobile devices and others equipped with USB ports. Upp is a small, portable fuel cell system that uses hydrogen to generate electrical power. This hydrogen comes in the form of the Upp Cartridge, which is very similar to a battery, apart from the fact that it stores hydrogen rather than electrical power. The cartridge can be replaced easily, making it easy to keep the Upp device powered.

Demand for portable chargers is growing among consumers, especially those that travel often

Portable chargers are becoming more popular, especially among consumers that often travel or participate in outdoor activities. Hikers, for instance, can take advantage of the convenience that a portable charger has to offer. The charger can keep a mobile device functional for an extended period of time. Those traveling to foreign countries have to worry less about whether or not they forgot to pack an adapter for their mobile device’s charger, as they could use the Upp device instead.

Upp charger is available in Apple Stores

The Upp charger is currently available at Apple Stores throughout the United Kingdom, but can also be purchased through the Upp website. A starter pack, which includes the charger itself and a hydrogen cartridge, is available for approximately $170. Additional hydrogen cartridges cost roughly $6.00. The charger can provide electrical power to nearly any mobile device that is equipped with a USB port, making it quite universal.
