Hydrogen Fuel Hannover Messe 2012

Event to showcase innovation in hydrogen fuel

In April, the 19th Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells event will be held at Hannover Masse 2013, showing off the latest innovations in the world of hydrogen fuel. Every year, the event showcases major developments being made in the realm of hydrogen fuel, production, storage, and fuel cell technology. In the past two years, hydrogen has become a more attractive form of renewable energy due to the dropping cost of fuel cell production and more efficient storage methods. This year, several companies and organizations will flock to the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells event in order to show the progress they have made in the realm of renewable energy.

Storage is the focus of this year’s event

Every year, the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells event adopts a specific focus. This year, storage is the issue that will receive a great deal of attention during the event. Storage has long been an issue that has kept the adoption of hydrogen fuel at bay, largely due to the volatility of the gas and the high demands it imposes on conventional storage methods. Those presenting at this year’s event will showcase the progress they have made in the area of hydrogen fuel storage, but they will also touch upon the prospect of using hydrogen as a storage medium for other kinds of renewable energy.

Exhibitors will demonstrate hydrogen as a storage medium for solar and wind power

Some 15 exhibitors attending the event will demonstrate technologies that can store the electrical power generated from the sun and from wind as hydrogen fuel. Once this energy is converted into hydrogen, it can be easily transported all over the world, or used immediately to generate electrical power. Hydrogen can also be processed into natural gas, which itself has a variety of uses.

Hydrogen-powered vehicles to be on display

A number of hydrogen-powered vehicles will be available to test drive at the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells event and exhibitors will demonstrate how simply these vehicles can be fueled. Many of the world’s leading automakers will attend the event to show off their next generation of clean vehicles, as well as leading industrial gas produce Linde. Linde will be one of the exhibitors showcasing the refueling of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
