Tesla Motors prepares to launch new Model S in the UK

Tesla Motors is promising to deliver an electric vehicle revolution. The company has already established a powerful position in the auto industry with its ambitious and innovative approach to transportation. Now, the company is looking to set a higher standard for transportation by introducing its new Model S Performance Plus vehicle. The vehicle is set to arrive in the United Kingdom next month and could serve as a stepping stone toward a new future in clean transportation.

New vehicle boasts of 300 mile range

The Model S Performance Plus boasts of the ability to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge, making it one of the most efficient battery electric vehicles in the world. Moreover, Tesla claims that an additional 130 miles worth of travel can be added to the vehicle with a single 20-minute charge. Essentially, the vehicle would be able to travel the length of the United Kingdom making only one stop to charge a portion of its battery capacity.

Tesla aims to put an end to range anxiety

Most electric vehicles that are currently available in the UK have an operation range of 100 miles. These vehicles are often criticized as being inefficient and cumbersome, as it takes extensive periods of time to charge these vehicles completely. The lack of efficient electric vehicles has created a sense of “range anxiety,” making consumer nervous about driving these vehicles for any prolonged period of time or over great distances. Tesla Motors aims to alleviate this range anxiety with its new vehicle, which may be the first in a long line of similar models that will be released over the coming years.

Fuel cell vehicles may offer some competition for Tesla

Tesla has become one of the premier names in clean transportation, but it may soon see some competition come from larger, more established automakers. Most of the world’s major automakers are developing fuel cell vehicles  and have plans to release  these vehicles in 2015, if not sooner. Tesla has been quick to denounce fuel cells as viable for clean transportation, but other automakers have praised these energy systems.
