These are module-design refinements that affect how efficiently the device converts light into hydrogen and how consistently it behaves in real operating conditions. In the reported installation, SunHydrogen said the improved modules incorporated advances in catalyst integration and coating strategies developed during pilot commissioning [1][1].

A design change to the light-absorbing structure of the module intended to convert more incoming sunlight into usable power and increase hydrogen output. SunHydrogen said it and CTF Solar have manufactured more than 100 modules with an improved absorber layout [1][1].
