H2-DRI-EAF is an alternative steelmaking route that uses hydrogen as the reducing agent in the direct reduction of iron ore, followed by melting in an electric arc furnace. This method can dramatically reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional blast furnace-basic oxygen furnace (BF-BOF) methods that rely on coal and coke.
