A solar energy project in Fukushima Prefecture that installs 120 solar panels on abandoned farmland contaminated by the 2011 nuclear disaster. The project enables farmers to grow crops beneath elevated panels while generating renewable electricity for sale to utilities.

A municipal initiative to promote solar energy adoption by guaranteeing fixed payment rates for excess solar energy fed back to the grid. The program was introduced six months before the article's publication and represents the largest feed-in tariff program in the United States.

One of Japan's largest solar energy systems located in Okayama Prefecture with a maximum capacity of 231 megawatts. The project is led by Setouchi Future Creations and involves a coalition of companies including GE Energy Financial Services, Toyo Engineering Corporation, and Kuni Umi Asset Management.

Solar photovoltaic systems being developed and delivered by Toyo Engineering for the Setouchi City Solar Energy Project. Expected to be delivered beginning in November.
