The H-Power Generator successfully completed its FAT testing.

AFC Energy’s hydrogen generator – its first 45kVA H-Power Generator – has passed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) testing and validation, much to the company’s delight. Now, the H-Power Generator has been dispatched to Spain and will be used at a construction site in Madrid by ACCIONA.

ACCIONA, the ideal choice for deployment.

ACCIONA, a specialist in developing and managing sustainable infrastructure solutions, especially in renewable power, will use the hydrogen generator to support the decarbonization of construction activities.

It is no surprise that AFC Energy is deploying the H-Power Generator to ACCIONA, as the two companies have forged a strategic partnership that aims to lower reliance on diesel and advance toward a zero-emission construction industry.

ACCIONIA is a leading supporter of investment into a decarbonized construction industry, stated Adam Bond, CEO of AFC Energy, who added that ACCIONA is one of AFC’s “key” partners.

AFC Energy and ACCIONA have been working together for a while. According to Bond, since AFC deployed its H-Power Tower deployments in Spain almost two years ago, AFC has continued to collaborate closely with ACCIONA to better know where engineering optimization can be achieved to improve the operability of the hydrogen generator at international construction sites.

ACCIONA’s head of construction business R&D center, Miguel Paris Torres, commented that he has seen “first-hand” the important steps AFC has taken to be able to deliver its latest H-Power Generator from the initial field trials of the H-Power Tower almost two years ago. Torres believes the system is ready for on-site deployment.

ACCIONA views hydrogen as a “significant pillar” of its decarbonization strategy and believes working together with AFC Energy will result in further opportunities to replace diesel on sites using hydrogen-powered generators beginning this year (2024).

This newly validated H-Power Generator uses AFC Energy’s latest tech.

This latest hydrogen generator system will at first be leased to ACCIONA. Once the lease period ends, ACCIONA will then have the option to buy it.
