NGHC launched a major recruitment campaign.

In addition to working on building the world’s largest green hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia, NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) has begun a major recruitment campaign, holding a virtual career fair. NGHC is keen to fill jobs for the green H2 facility – which will be located in the futuristic city NEOM – as its operation phase draws ever nearer.

The virtual career fair attracted over 9,000 registrations.

The recent virtual career fair held by NGHC garnered a huge turnout, with the company seeing more than 9,000 registrations. The massive number of registrations is a good sign as it shows there’s strong interest in the project. This bodes well for NGHC, which is looking for skilled individuals across an array of functions. Among these include Corporate, Finance, Operations & Maintenance, EHSS, and IT & Cyber Security.

The CEO of NGCH, Wesam Alghamdi, said that the company seeks to build a skilled team to “deliver the world’s largest green hydrogen plant” by bringing together the best talent from Saudi Arabia and around the globe.

NEOM is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2026 and the objective is to create more than 300 direct jobs. Currently, 43% of NGHC’s workface are Saudi nationals and 16% are female.

The CEO added that the company is also dedicated to encouraging young people to join the facility and is working closely with universities to help achieve this goal.

The NEOM Green Hydrogen Plant will be the largest in the world.

The NEOM green hydrogen production plant will be the biggest of its kind in the world once fully operational. The aim of the $8.4 billion facility is to generate as much as 600 tons of carbon-free hydrogen per day. This would be enough to power an estimated 20,000 hydrogen buses and trucks, with the potential to remove five million tons of carbon emissions per year compared to diesel-powered buses or trucks.

The facility, which will be located in NEOM’s OXAGON, is an equal joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM. It will integrate as much as 4 gigawatts of wind and solar energy, with about 5.6 million solar panels generating up to 2.2 gigawatts of solar power.

The green H2 that is produced will be exported as green ammonia by Air Products and used in hard to decarbonized sectors like transportation and heavy industry.

NGHC is a key step in Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy transition.
