DiagnaMed Launches Natural Hydrogen Exploration Campaign in Ontario Using Proven Quebec Model
July 3, 2025DiagnaMed Holdings Corp. is kicking off a bold new hydrogen exploration project across Ontario, Canada. They’re teaming up with Quebec Innovative Materials Corp. (QIMC) and the research experts at INRS to search for naturally occurring underground hydrogen—an exciting step forward in the race toward sustainable energy.
Targeting Natural Hydrogen Beneath Ontario’s Surface
At the heart of this campaign is a proven geological model they’ve already put to the test in Quebec. This method looks for signs of natural hydrogen trapped underground, using how gases move through faults in the Earth’s crust as a roadmap. Led by esteemed geoscientist Dr. Marc Richer-Laflèche, the team plans to collect more than 2,000 soil gas samples across strategic sites throughout Ontario. It’s a scientific deep-dive with the potential to surface a major clean-fuel source.
Inclusive Collaboration With Local Communities
It’s not just about the science, though. This campaign is also about partnership, especially with Indigenous communities. The Temiscamingue First Nations are actively involved, bringing local knowledge into the mix and ensuring a respectful and inclusive approach to resource discovery.
New Board Member Brings Experience and Vision
The timing couldn’t be better, as industry veteran André Turmel has just joined DiagnaMed’s board of directors. His experience will help guide the company as it ramps up operations and explores new paths in zero-emission technology.
A Step Toward Canada’s Clean Energy Leadership
If successful, this initiative could be a game-changer—not just for DiagnaMed, but for Canada at large. Tapping into homegrown natural hydrogen could put the country on the map as a true leader in industrial decarbonization and next-gen clean energy. It’s a move that aligns perfectly with Canada’s long-term climate strategy and could unlock new opportunities for sustainable energy investments moving forward.
