Hydrogen Fuel Cells Get a Digital Boost Through UK–India Educational Alliance
July 4, 2025On June 30, 2025, Coventry University teamed up with India’s Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and IIT Guwahati (IITG) to kick off a new online course and virtual learning project focused on hydrogen fuel cell technology. The program is backed by a £10,000 grant from the British Council.
Hands-on learning, virtually anywhere
This initiative is all about making high-quality, hands-on education more accessible. Through a mix of virtual labs, interactive webinars, and digital resources, students across India can now get up to speed on the latest in fuel cell technology—no matter where they’re based.
A shared roadmap for a cleaner future
The project lines up with the broader goals laid out in the UK–India 2030 Roadmap, along with both countries’ national hydrogen strategies. By building digital skills around sustainable energy and green hydrogen, the program is helping tackle the skills gap in this fast-evolving sector.
Fueling international collaboration
But it’s not just about education—it’s also about connection. This partnership is designed to promote global cooperation in research and development around hydrogen production and fuel cell technology. It provides a solid platform for students and institutions to collaborate on cutting-edge solutions for a more sustainable future.
Scaling up for the hydrogen workforce of tomorrow
As demand for clean energy expertise grows, programs like this one are critical. Not only does it offer scalable, affordable education, but it also lays the groundwork for future global training efforts tied to hydrogen fuel cells and sustainable energy. It’s a big step toward building a workforce ready to shape the next chapter in clean energy innovation.
