This may be technically feasible….. but viable??
I note there’s not even the hint of how much such would cost, and I’d estimate it to be very substantial – certainly compared to a home charge point! It’s not just the cost of the electrolysis and storage, a compressor suitable for the pressures such as a Mirai needs is far from trivial, and needing quite a bit of maintenance.
The undeniable USP of hydrogen is fast refuelling away from home – but for home charging/fuelling hydrogen is always going to be at a huge disadvantage compared to battery, both in terms of capital cost and the cost of electricity per mile.
