Splitwaters and Oriana Power form new partnership.

Splitwaters, a US-based company specializing in innovative electrolyzers and balance of plant equipment for green hydrogen production, is working together with Oriana Power, an India-based leading commercial and industrial solar manufacturer, to develop renewable hydrogen and e-fuel (e.g., green methanol, e-methanol, and green ammonia) facilities in India.

Splitwaters delivers a complete solution.

Under the partnership, Oriana Power will be in charge of business development and will carry out the project in the Indian market. Oriana Power will also provide the alkaline electrolyzer and other equipment that is needed for the green hydrogen projects. Additionally, the company will supply engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to clients in the nation.

Although Oriana Power will supply the electrolyzer and other equipment, these will be based on the innovative technology and modular approach developed by Splitwater. This groundbreaking, flexible technology is Splitwaters’ full service solution designed to lower the capital expenditure (CAPEX) of green hydrogen and e-fuel projects by as much as 30 percent. This reduction in CAPEX creates a sustainable energy solution with greater efficiency and affordability.

What’s more, the alliance forged between the two companies will see Splitwaters receive Oriana’s support for its green hydrogen and e-fuel projects outside of India. Oriana Power can leverage its capabilities and market reach to help drive the clean energy industry forward.

Driving India’s green hydrogen revolution.

The new agreement formed between Splitwaters and Oriana Power should be highly beneficial for India’s green hydrogen and e-fuels sectors. The expertise and innovative tech that will be brought together by this partnership is expected to propel India’s green H2 revolution, opening the door for the country to move forward toward an energy future that is cleaner, efficient and cost-effective.

According to Oriana Power’s Chief Business Officer, Anirudh Saraswat, the partnership will allow Oriana Power’s clients to reach their Final Investment Decision faster and generate hydrogen produced from renewables at “highly competitive prices”. Saraswat added that the partnership is a “significant development” for Oriana Power and the company is eager to take India’s renewable hydrogen sector “to new heights”.

Why is India betting big on hydrogen?

hydrogen news ebookDuring the global pandemic, the nation realized that diversifying their energy demand and their geographical availability is vital. Since then, India has placed greater focus on strengthening its National Energy Security.

Recognizing the potential in green hydrogen, India has become invested in this game-changing technology and launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission in 2023. The goal of this initiative is to see India become a global hub for producing, using and exporting green H2.
