New partnership will give Plug Power customers access to efficient hydrogen production technology

Plug Power, a leading developer of hydrogen fuel cells, has announced a new partnership with HyGear, another hydrogen specialist, in order to deliver new hydrogen production technology to clients. Through the partnership, HyGear will be delivering its specialized hydrogen production technology to Plug Power customers. HyGear’s Hy.GEN technology will be used for the endeavor. The company’s Hy.GEN technology has proven itself to be efficient and capable of meeting the hydrogen production needs of those using it.

Hy.GEN technology may be able to meet the needs of customers interested in fuel cells

HyGear’s Hy.GEN technology is based on small-scale reforming technology that allows it to perform as an onsite hydrogen production system that is less expensive than other solutions. The technology can use biogas to generate hydrogen, acting as a renewable source of hydrogen production. Plug Power believes that the technology will appeal to its customers, as many of them require onsite hydrogen production systems that are flexible for their needs.

Demand for hydrogen production systems is on the rise

Companies Partner to Improve Hydrogen Fuel Cells Production System - HandshakeHydrogen fuel cells are growing more common and the demand for these energy systems is on the rise. The problem, however, is that fuel cells lack the infrastructure they need to become commercial successes. As such, the demand for hydrogen production systems, particularly those leveraging the power of renewable energy, are becoming more important. Without such systems, fuel cells have limited value to businesses and consumers alike.

Partnership could lead to new business opportunities and secure growth for both companies

Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, notes that the partnership with HyGear will allow Plug Power to add value to its GenFuel line of energy systems. Marsh suggests that the partnership will secure growth for Plug Power and HyGear and could lead to new opportunities in the coming years. The fuel cell market still faces significant challenges that could slow growth for companies, but these challenges may be overcome through strategic partnerships, such as that formed between Plug Power and HyGear.
